Across the forest floor I run
I dodge a bullet from his gun
I race through the woods as fast as I can
But I still cannot shake that horrid man
All I wanted was some food
So I could feed my little brood
Now I'm running for my life
What if that man kills my wife?
A bullet hits me in the head
I drop to the ground, cold and dead.

~~~
I finally got that horrid runt
Perhaps now I no longer have to hunt
I'm sure on me my wife would dote
If I made this fox into a coat.
BOOM! PLOT TWIST! Weren't expecting that, were you? Giggle
I was inspired to write this because I was thinking of this short story I read somewhere once.
I put this in free verse horror poetry cuz I didn't know where to put it. :| (Blank Stare)
Hope you all enjoyed it! ;) (Wink)
This reminds me of a song I wrote once about a rabbit on the run from hunters. It was all from the rabbits perspective and how he had to get back to his warren while lights (from the hunters' vehicles) were flashing around him. :)
